| The Writing Center is
available on-line to students and other patrons who have access
to email. Writing Center staff will look at and respond to
questions about content, grammar, punctuation, and spelling in
texts. |
Tutors in
the Center will not read entire drafts if they are more than four pages,
but will read and respond to parts of the draft that the writer
indicates. When you are requesting tutor assistance, keep in mind the
hierarchy that the Writing Center suggests when responding to writing.
If you are asking for editing assistance, tutors will help you by
finding and pointing out the first one or two examples of an error that
appears to be particularly troublesome for the writer. The tutor
will then describe the error and how to correct it.
If you have
further questions about a grammar or punctuation concept, please don't
hesitate to continue the conversation with the tutor either by email,
phone (831-7704), or in the Center. We will try to respond within
two business days (short questions regarding grammar, punctuation, and
wording may be answered sooner).
If you would
rather have a face-to-face conference in the LARC Writing Center with one of
our tutors, make an appointment through
email or phone (831-7704).
